Heart Apotheca

Individual Counseling

Price:                         2,800 THB / Session
Session Time:           60 Min.

Description:

Sometimes, you experience stuck points in life that keep you from living the life you want and feeling content within yourself. This can look like feeling burnt out at work, encountering the same problems in relationships, or being your own worst critic. While these occurrences are a normal part of life, over time the stuck points can harden like a crusty knot. Often, this knot is trying to protect a soft, vulnerable side of you.

Counseling is a safe space for you to begin unraveling this knot, learning more about how it formed and ways it might be needlessly weighing you down. As you discover more about yourself and uncover hidden strengths, you'll also learn ways to move through life that are more freeing than relying on the old knot.

Our counselors are trauma-informed and accredited. We go at your pace, according to what works for you.

This is a safe space for neurodiversity, PoC & LGBTQ+ inclusion.

Tatiana is an amazing counsellor. ...

Friends and family can be tremendous support. They can also be unintentionally biased, not fully aware of how they may be influencing your thoughts and feelings, or uninformed about the issues you're facing. Furthermore, even if they wanted to listen and provide space, they may not always have the capacity to hear you out.

A professional counselor is removed from the situation, they're able to provide you reflection from an unbiased perspective. They have also been trained in human development and psychology, so they're able to see the situation from a big picture point of view and help you identify thinking traps. Finally, the time they provide to you belongs soley to you. They are here to fully listen and engage with you.

There are overlapping qualities, but there are a few important distinctions. Psychiatrists are able to diagnose mental disorders and prescribe medication. Psychologists are able to work with patients suffering acute mental health disorders, such as schizophrenia and severe eating disorders. Counselors primarily work with clients on the day to day issues of mental health, helping clients manage issues like stress and anxiety so that they don't slip into mental illness.

Since counselors work with a broad range of issues, you can bring just about anything to the table. Common themes and topics include: stress management, anxiety, depression, motivation, anger management, career, body image, sexuality, LGBTQ+ issues, relationships, co-dependency, friendships, family dynamics, self-esteem, self-confidence, grief, multiculturalism, trauma, living with ADHD, and other major (or minor) life changes.

Tatiana takes a creative, client-centred approach to counseling. In other words, it depends on your needs and how you prefer to work with a counselor. One session may be based around uncovering unhealthy attachment styles, another may be based around discussing grounding strategies for when you're feeling overwhelmed. A piece of 'homework' given may be for you to write a letter to your inner child.

Tatiana also approaches counseling from a feminist, trauma-informed, multiculturally sensitive lens. Rather than asking questions like, "what's wrong with you?", a trauma-informed perspective says, "what happened to you?" Being multiculturally sensitive means acknowledging that conventional Western psychology is not a one-size-fits-all model, and addressing the systems around socio-economic history that have created the culture(s) you reside in today, drawing from their strengths and acknowledging their challenges.

Tatiana offers online counseling (Video Telehealth) and in-person (Bangkok-based).
